IRON REMOVER

Iron Remover removes all ferrous contamination from rims, bodywork and glass. Ideal for the decontamination of all steel and light alloy rims and also on chromed and polished rims for the removal of dirt that cannot be removed with other rim cleaning products. It restores the original shine to the treated surface.

There are different types of contamination, in general, we can define them as anything that we cannot remove with a normal detergent. Often the contaminations are not visible at first glance.
Yet, they can be found on the rims, on the bodywork and even on the windows of the car.

How can we recognize them?
On the RIMS, ferrous contamination is easily identifiable: for example, after cleaning with a specific product if some dirt and black or dark brown dots remain between the spokes and on the rim channel , this is considered contamination.

On the BODYWORK, if the contamination is deep, the color of the car will appear dull and in the case of white cars, even after washing, you will continue to notice small dark brown dots.

If, however, after washing your car you don’t seem to see any dark spots, the contamination is not visible, but I invite you to do a test: get some common disposable gloves, the kind used at the petrol station or for cleaning. shopping: put them on and gently “caress” the bodywork: you will easily be able to feel the rough surface to the touch: these are contaminations!

Iron Remover by Maniac Line™ removes iron oxide contamination, such as stubborn brake dust and iron particles created by friction on railway or tram tracks and by industrial, road or industrial pollution. a construction site.

Our advice is to use Iron Remover when the bodywork is dull or rough to the touch and when there are still dark dots or stains on the rims after washing.

For a better job, a brush or brush will be useful, depending on the surface to be treated.

Always make sure you work in the shade and check that the surface is cool to the touch before starting.

Decontamination of the Rims

As a maintenance procedure, perform a decontamination every three washes, using the product diluted in a 1:1 ratio (one part product to one part water). Apply the undiluted product directly to the rims and leave it to act for approximately 3-4 minutes, avoiding it drying on the surface.

The innovative formula contains a marking agent that reacts with contaminating iron particles, dissolving them. During the action, the product changes color becoming purple, indicating both the dissolution of the particles and a deep degreasing action. Special attention has been paid to masking the sulfur odor of the product, making it more pleasant to use.

Use a brush or soft bristle brush to ensure you get rid of dirt even in the most difficult spaces, such as between the spokes and crevices. Rinse the circles thoroughly with water and dry with a microfiber cloth. Its neutral pH and acid-free formula guarantees safety and effectiveness, even on the most delicate surfaces. It can be used on steel, aluminium, light alloy, painted, chromed or polished rims without risk. Iron Remover combines remarkable cleaning capacity with decontaminating action, offering a 2 in 1 solution to effectively clean and decontaminate.

Decontamination of the bodywork

After washing and drying the car, and always working in the shade on a non-hot surface, apply the pure product evenly while maintaining a distance of approximately 40 cm from the surface. Leave it to act for 3-5 minutes and watch the product work, dissolving impurities and deeply purifying. A thorough rinsing will reveal a body like new, with surfaces that are smooth to the touch, shiny and brightly colored. Decontamination is also essential as preparation for the application of a protective treatment, improving its adhesion.

Note: Avoid use on unpainted or unprotected metals and do not apply to motorcycles.

There are no dilution ratios.

Make sure you ALWAYS use the product in the shade and never on a hot surface. Leave it to act for a few minutes, the tracing active ingredient will help you perceive the action of the product: when it turns from colorless to dark purple, it will be time to rinse with a generous jet of water. We have worked to reduce the typical sulfur smell, very pungent produced by the chemical action of the product: but use it in an open or well-ventilated place. Do not use it on unpainted brake calipers: the active ingredient acts on iron and cast iron brake calipers are actually an alloy of iron and steel. If they happen to turn black, rinse them immediately and don’t worry: nothing that can’t be solved with a polish. The product has a balanced pH and due to its characteristic odor we recommend using it in an open and well-ventilated place. We advise you not to dilute the product more than 1:1 (1 part product and 1 part water). Do not use on unprotected and unpainted metals. Do not use on motorcycles.

  • Always in the shade

Wash your car in a shaded area and never in direct sunlight to prevent the shampoo from drying out and causing stains.

  • Never on hot bodywork

If the car has been exposed to the sun or the bonnet is very hot, cool the surface with a jet of cold water.

  • Start from the top

It is the least dirty part, you will avoid dirtying the glove: washing will be faster.

  • Try using two buckets

In the first you will put the solution of water and shampoo, in the second only water to rinse the sponge or glove frequently: you will avoid scratching the bodywork.

  • Wash small portions at a time

You won’t forget any spots, the product will be able to act at its best and without drying out: you will avoid stains and streaks.

  • Perfect circles

To clean the rims, use a brush that can reach the most hidden points.

What are contaminations?

Contamination can be of various forms: limestone, tar and iron and can only be eliminated with a specific product for each type of contamination.

When should I use Iron Remover on the bodywork and how often?

When the bodywork feels dull or rough to the touch and when after washing there are still dark dots or stains.

Can I use Iron Remover before applying a wax or protectant?

Yes, this operation must always be carried out before applying a wax or protective agent as it promotes adhesion by eliminating ferrous particles on the surface.

How can I detect contamination on bodywork and glass?

Most of the time it is not visible: if you don't see them, take a common plastic shopping bag, the disposable ones so to speak, and pass it, with one hand inside, over the bodywork: you will feel the bodywork underneath rough. What you feel are the contaminations. On the bodywork, if the contamination is deep, it can even be visible: the color of the bodywork will appear dull and in the case of white cars you will still see brown dots after washing.

What do you need for this operation?

To decontaminate the rims you will need a soft bristle brush to get to the most hidden points, for example between the spokes and the gaps and a water hose for rinsing. To decontaminate the bodywork, simply dispense the product onto the surface, wait for the color to turn purple, then rinse.

Can I also use it on unpainted calipers?

No, because unpainted calipers are made of raw cast iron, an alloy of iron and lead. The product acts on the iron and this could therefore blacken the pliers which however can be made shiny again using an abrasive paste. So be careful when dispensing near the brake caliper.

Does Iron Remover need to be diluted?

Iron Remover is ready to use and can be used directly on the rim, bodywork and glass in total safety. The 1:1 dilution (one part product and one part water) is recommended only for maintenance or light contamination.
