FOAM GUN PREWASH

Foaming prewash for Foam Gun: cleans, polishes and protects all external surfaces. Eliminates smog, road dirt, midges, organic plant or bird residues. Excellent economy thanks to high dilution ratios. It can be used frequently because it respects previously applied protectants, including nanotechnology-based or coating-based protectants.

Why, even if you wash the car by hand, personally and carefully wash after wash, do you see micro scratches and lines appear on the bodywork?
And when you empty the washing bucket, do you happen to find dirt residues, such as soil, at the bottom?

If the answer is YES, it means that no one has ever taught you the correct washing procedure. Let's see it together:
Following the correct washing procedure, we start by cleaning the rims and tires and decontaminating them.

The next phase is the Prewash:
it is carried out BEFORE proceeding with manual washing with shampoo.

The PREWASH is the fundamental step that makes all the difference: we will in fact remove up to 80% of the coarse dirt present on the bodywork, without mechanical action, therefore without touching it.

The dirt particles tenaciously anchored to the bodywork, if not carried out a correct pre-wash, during manual washing will be carried by the glove or the washing sponge with the risk of creating micro-scratches (called in jargon "swirls") or worse, deep scratches (called in jargon “rids”).

Only after having carried out a correct pre-wash will you be able to proceed with manual washing in complete safety. To learn more about the correct washing procedures, we invite you to watch the dedicated video.

Let's go back to the prewash: you can dispense the product in different ways, based on the type of dirt present on the car.

With manual sprayer for localized action on specific dirt:
The lower parts of the car are always the dirtiest.
By dispensing the product in low pressure diluted 1:10 (1 part product and 10 parts water) directly onto the dirt, you will have a high-performance and localized action that is ideal on difficult dirt such as midges and mud.

With low pressure manual pump sprayer:
You can use the product with a low pressure manual pump sprayer, dilute “Foam Gun Prewash” 1:50 in winter (1 part product and 50 parts water), i.e. 2 capfuls in 1 liter of water, or 1:100 in summer (1 part of product and 100 parts of water) 1 capful in a liter of water.

Dispense the product and wait 1 minute for the product to act to detach the dirt from the surface.
Finally, proceed with a thorough rinse at high pressure, using the water jet to eliminate the coarsest residues of dirt.

In this way, thanks to the kinetic energy of the pressure washer, you will remove the dirt that the emollient action of the pre-wash has detached from the surface.
In summer, or if you find yourself working under the sun and at high temperatures, we suggest you wash and rinse one panel at a time.

So what is the correct procedure for a correct prewash?
For lower parts and localized dirt, spray the diluted product directly from bottom to top and rinse.

Then, dispense it in foam gun mode, always from bottom to top following these dilutions:

  • for winter dirt 1:5 (1 part product and 5 parts water), to carry out a final dilution of 1:50 at the exit;
  • for summer dirt 1:10 (1 part of product and 10 of water), to carry out a final dilution of approximately 1:110 at the exit.

Apply a thick layer of foam to the vehicle and wait for it to begin to fall (This may take up to 5 minutes).
Finally, proceed to rinse with a high-pressure jet of water starting from top to bottom.

There are no dilution ratios.

It is possible to dispense the product directly onto the bodywork without first wetting it, even in the presence of deeply anchored dirt such as midges and the lowest parts of the car which are always the dirtiest. If there is mud, remove it with a jet of water before dispensing the product. Make sure the surface of the vehicle is not hot and that the car is in the shade avoiding direct sun. Before using the product, in summer, rinse the vehicle to cool the surface or to remove the first part of dirt. Do not use on motorcycles.

  • Always in the shade

Wash your car in a shaded area and never in direct sunlight to prevent the shampoo from drying out and causing stains.

  • Never on hot bodywork

If the car has been exposed to the sun or the bonnet is very hot, cool the surface with a jet of cold water.

  • Start from the top

It is the least dirty part, you will avoid dirtying the glove: washing will be faster.

  • Try using two buckets

In the first you will put the solution of water and shampoo, in the second only water to rinse the sponge or glove frequently: you will avoid scratching the bodywork.

  • Wash small portions at a time

You won't forget any spots, the product will be able to act at its best and without drying out: you will avoid stains and streaks.

  • Perfect circles

To clean the rims, use a brush that can reach the most hidden points.

Can I dispense the product even without a foam gun?

Yes, you can dispense the product with a “Nebula Foam” manual pump. In this case, follow the following dilutions: Winter dirt 1:50 (2 caps of product in 1 liter of water). Summer dirt 1:100 (1 capful of product in 1 liter of water). We advise you to proceed with dispensing the product, always from the bottom upwards, half the car at a time, to never let the foam dry on the surface.

Can I use it without a pressure washer?

Yes, although in this case you will not have the same dirt removal performance. However, you will have an emollient action that helps to soften the dirt, making its subsequent removal easier.

Can I dispense the product directly onto the dirty surface or do I completely wet the car first?

Our advice is to wet the car first to cool the surface, especially in the summer season and to remove dust and coarse dirt, thus increasing safety of use.

Once the product has been applied to the surface, can I work it with a brush or sponge?

No, because in this phase you are going to detach the coarse dirt from the surface, even the strongly anchored one. Leave the product to act and exploit its chemical action. After rinsing, you can proceed to carefully wash the car with a sponge, glove and brushes for the most difficult areas and details such as emblems or grilles.

What are the fundamental operations before proceeding with pre-washing the car?

We always recommend starting by washing rims and tires with Wheel&Tire Cleaner and eliminating ferrous contamination with Iron Remover.

After the prewash, what can I use for manual glove washing?

For a maintenance wash use Neutral Foam Shampoo. For dark or wrapped cars use "Black&Wrap Shampoo." To add a ceramic action to your wash and thus get more protection and a hydrophobic effect use "Ceramic Shampoo."
